1. Introduction
APOUL Clipboard for Mac (the "App") keeps the text, images, and notes you copy on your Mac. This policy explains what information the App handles and how it is protected.
2. Information Stored
The App stores the following only on this Mac. It is never sent to the developer's servers.
- Clip history (text and images, type, date, pinned status, category, title, order)
- Notes (including whether they are locked)
- Settings such as theme, content hiding, and lock
Your Pro status is managed by Apple's StoreKit; only the verification result is kept on your Mac.
3. Watching the Clipboard
To keep what you copy in other apps, the App checks at regular intervals whether the clipboard has changed while it is running (while it appears in the menu bar). You can stop watching at any time.
- Copies that password managers mark as "don't keep" are skipped without reading their contents
- Copies of only 4–8 digits are treated as verification codes and deleted automatically after a short time (you can turn this off)
4. Accessibility Permission
The App uses macOS Accessibility permission only for "Paste Directly", solely to send the ⌘V keystroke so the clip you choose is pasted into the previous app. It never reads or records your keystrokes or screen contents. The App's basic features work without this permission.
5. Ads, Analytics, and Tracking
The Mac app shows no ads. It performs no usage analytics and no tracking by other companies' services.
6. Touch ID and Passwords
The app lock and note locks use macOS's LocalAuthentication to verify you. The App never receives your fingerprint or password.
7. Backup and Export
At your request, the App can export encrypted backups (.apoulclip), JSON / CSV files, and Clipy-format files.
- Backups are encrypted on your Mac with a passphrase you choose. The passphrase is never stored
- JSON / CSV files are not encrypted. You decide where to save them and how to handle them
- There is currently no sync or automatic backup
8. Deleting Data
You can delete clips and notes one by one or all at once in the App. Deleting the App removes the data it stored on your Mac. Please delete exported files yourself from where you saved them.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as needed. We will announce significant changes in the App or on its distribution page.
