APOUL Calendar Privacy Policy

For iPhone and iPadEffective September 13, 2026Updated October 13, 2026

This policy explains how APOUL ("we" or "us") handles information in "APOUL Calendar" (the "App"), an iPhone and iPad app. If there is any difference between the Japanese and English versions, the Japanese version prevails.

1. Our approach

The App processes your information on your device (iPhone or iPad). We do not collect your information.

2. Information stored on your device

The App stores the following information only on your device:

  • schedules (title, date and time, notes, color, stickers, etc.)
  • monthly notes
  • the image you choose as a background (the one image you pick is copied onto your device)
  • settings such as display and notifications
  • backup copies the App keeps on your device

The App has no function that sends this information to our servers or to any third party's servers.

3. Information that leaves your device through your actions

Only in the following cases does content you choose reach a recipient or storage location you choose. It does not pass through our servers.

  • Sending by link or file: it reaches the recipient through the app you choose (Messages, LINE, etc.). Its handling there is governed by that service's privacy policy.
  • Nearby exchange: the App communicates directly with nearby devices over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Share group schedules are encrypted using the group passphrase.
  • Exporting a backup: it is saved to the location you choose. If you choose iCloud Drive or a similar service, it is managed by that service.

4. Device features

  • Notifications: reminders before schedules are scheduled and shown on your device.
  • Photos: when choosing a background, only the image you select is loaded. The App does not read your whole photo library.
  • Local network: the App looks for nearby devices only while the nearby exchange screen is open, and, if you turn on automatic exchange, while the App is open.
  • Face ID / Touch ID: if you turn on the app lock, it is used to confirm that it is you. iOS performs the check, and the App only receives whether it succeeded. Neither the App nor we receive any face or fingerprint data.

You can turn these off at any time in the Settings app. Other features keep working.

5. Apple services

Apple processes purchases and payments for the Premium plan. We never receive your name, credit card number, or Apple ID. The App only checks on your device, through the App Store, whether you are subscribed.

6. Advertising and analytics

The free version of the App shows ads using Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, an advertising identifier, an approximate region estimated from your IP address, records of ad views and interactions, and information about how the App runs (such as crashes and performance) may be sent to Google. The content of your events, notes, and background images is never sent.

For how Google handles this information, see Google's policy (https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads).

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we show a consent form for advertising. You can change your choices at any time in Settings.

On iOS, we ask for permission to track. If you do not allow it, the advertising identifier is not used and you will not see personalized ads.

While you are subscribed to the Premium plan, no ads are shown.

We do not run our own usage analytics. The information Google handles to deliver and measure ads is described above.

7. Deleting information

Deleting the App from your device deletes the information stored on the device.

Backups you exported and schedules you sent remain in their storage locations or on the recipients' devices. Please delete them yourself if needed.

8. Requests and contact

Because we do not obtain your personal data through the App, we do not hold personal data about you in connection with the App.

If you contact us by email, we use your email address and message only to reply to you, and not for any other purpose.

Questions and complaints about this policy are accepted through the contact page on our website or the email address below.
